Today within Egypt the building trend continues along at a very rapid pace. Billions of dollars are going into new projects. One of the recent examples is qouted below.

"Al Kharafi Group of Kuwait has returned rumors on withdrawing its investments from Egypt and confirming plans to pump $ 2 billion new investments to produce steel billets & minerals. Statements came from Mr. Badr Nasser Al Kharafi, Deputy Chairman of the Group. Mr. Nasser Al Kharafi, indicated that the Group is proceeding with its project to produce steel billets in Suez (for which it has already a license from IDA - Industrial Development Authority) to recover minerals & process them into fertilizers & chemicals in Al Fayyoum."
